Homework: Students were given time all week to work on these assignments. I also offered time after school on Friday if anyone hadn't finished and needed access to the computers to complete these assignments. Before school study hall is available in the morning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday. If your child has any issues with these assignments (no problem) they can see me after school on Monday. A: Print Blog entries for this week and last week. Due to NECAP testing we didn't hand them in last week. An itemized list is in the link for October 13th. B: Finish your Egg Drop Glog
Today in Class:
Math: Students have been working on Least Common Multiples and Greatest Common Factors. We will finish up this unit on Wednesday.
Language Arts: Today students worked on defining words using roots. They also began an Autumn Imagery Writing Piece to be on display at the Harvest Dinner. Ask your child about their Humpty Dumpty Story.
Social Studies: We are finishing up our land and water terms, adding some detail about some of the interesting places students have discovered. Each slide should include the term, a definition, a sentence with a real-life example from either Europe, USA, Canada, South America, or Central America.
Science: We had some class time today to put final touches on our Egg Glogs. Be sure to ask your child to share these interesting reflective pieces about the scientific method and the egg drop. Their presentations should include how the steps of the scientific method were used in their project. If you have a webcam please encourage your child to include a video in their glog about which is the best design element in their crate which will ensure its success!
